How to Send Us Your Handpiece
Every brand goes through the same five steps, which is the point of using one shop instead of three.
- Ask for a label. Call (720) 998-2820 or fill in the estimate form and a prepaid USPS label reaches your inbox the same business day. No minimum, nothing to pay up front.
- Box it up. Bubble wrap and a sturdy carton. Add a note with your practice name, a contact number and what the handpiece is actually doing wrong. Electrics: tell us the motor and console. Adec: send the coupling too.
- We look, then we quote. Inspection is free and nothing gets opened further until you have seen a written price and said yes.
- We rebuild and prove it. Cleaned, rebuilt, then speed, torque and spray pattern checked on the bench, not just spun by hand.
- Back to your operatory. UPS or FedEx, 2–3 business days on the bench here, covered by the 6-month parts and labor warranty.

Repair Types We Handle
Most practices do not run a single brand. There is a KaVo on one chair, a Midwest that has been there fifteen years on another, and an NSK electric that arrived with the newest operatory. Sending those to three different repair labs means three turnaround times, three warranties and three sets of standards. We rebuild all of them on one bench, to one standard, under one warranty. High Speed Handpiece Repair
Air-driven turbines are the bulk of what reaches us, and the failure pattern is consistent across every brand: the bearings go first. Rising pitch, vibration through the grip or a drop in cutting power you can feel are all the same early warning. Caught then it is a bearing job. Left alone the vibration destroys the chuck seat and the housing, and a modest repair becomes a full rebuild.

Low Speed Handpieces and Attachments
Straight attachments, contra angles, prophy angles, motors and gear heads. Low speed failures announce themselves differently from high speed ones — instead of a whine you get lost torque and gear noise, and because the handpiece still turns, practices tend to work around it for months.
We rebuild the gear train, replace bearings and seals, and test under load rather than free-spinning, because a low speed head that sounds fine on the bench can still stall in the mouth. Electric Handpieces and Motor Overhauls
Electric attachments and motors are the fastest-growing part of our bench and the least forgiving. On a speed-increasing attachment, torque drops well before RPM does, so your console reports normal speed while the bur stalls in dense dentin. That gap between the display and what your hand feels is the tell.

Endo and Surgical Handpiece Repair
Rotary endo attachments and surgical handpieces have no room for slop. On a reduction endo head the gear train and push-button chuck wear first, and you feel it as vibration, runout or a file that slips under torque — which is how files separate mid-canal. A 45-degree surgical handpiece works harder than anything else in the office, sectioning under load with longer burs, so its turbine bearings and chuck wear sooner than an operative high speed’s.

Sonic Scaler Repair
Nearly every practice calls it an ultrasonic. Most of the time it is a sonic scaler — it threads onto the handpiece coupling, runs on line air and has no electronics in it. A true ultrasonic runs off its own generator box on the counter and belongs with a shop that has the matching unit to test against. The connector end settles it in a second.
Most “weak scaler” complaints are not a failed scaler: check air pressure, the tip and the water port before you condemn it. When it is the instrument, we strip and rebuild it, clear the water channel, inspect the tip seat and test it under working pressure — from $239, quoted before any work. Can I send handpieces from different brands in the same box?
Yes, and it is what most practices do. One prepaid label covers the whole box regardless of how many handpieces are in it or which manufacturers made them. You get one estimate covering everything, one turnaround, and one 6-month parts and labor warranty. There is no minimum order value and no per-item shipping charge.
Do you charge more to repair premium brands?
No. We quote by repair type and model — what the handpiece needs and how much work it takes — not by how premium the badge is. A turbine rebuild on a KaVo and a turbine rebuild on a Midwest are priced on the same basis. The full breakdown is on our pricing by brand and model page.
What if my brand or model is not listed on your site?
Call us at (720) 998-2820. The lists on this site cover our most common work, not the limit of what we service, and we would rather tell you honestly on the phone than have you ship something we cannot help with. If we genuinely cannot repair it, there is no repair charge — a flat $29 covers shipping and handling and it goes back to you.
What parts do you use?
Quality replacement parts matched to your specific model rather than close-enough substitutes, and we rebuild to specification so fit, torque, light output and spray pattern match how the handpiece left the factory. That precision matters more on some brands than others — tight-tolerance gear trains and small-head turbines have very little margin — which is why we do not treat every head the same.
