Endo & Surgical Handpiece Repair
Rotary endo attachments and surgical handpieces are precision instruments with no room for slop — a worn gear train or a tired turbine shows up in the tooth, not just on the bench. We rebuild both — endo attachments from $229, surgical handpieces from $159 — with a free written quote before any work and nationwide mail-in from Colorado Springs.
- Endo from $229, surgical from $159
- 2–3 business days on the bench
- Free prepaid shipping label
- 6-month parts & labor warranty
Two Different Jobs, One Bench
An endo attachment and a surgical handpiece fail in completely different ways — flip the switch to see what actually goes wrong inside each one, and what we do about it.
Rotary endo lives or dies on the gear train
A reduction contra-angle — like the 6:1 heads NSK and SybronEndo build — has one job: turn your motor’s speed into smooth, dead-true file rotation. When the gears or the push-button chuck wear, you feel it as vibration, runout, or a file that slips under torque. That is not an annoyance, it is a warning: runout and chuck slip are how files separate mid-canal.
What fails first: push-button chuck grip · worn gear sets (vibration, noise) · head bearings · autoclave corrosion in the head
We rebuild what the inspection shows is worn — gear, chuck or bearings — and verify the head runs true before it ships back.
Surgical handpieces are built around one idea
Keep pressurized air away from the surgical site. A 45-degree rear-exhaust high speed vents backwards for exactly that reason — and it works harder than any operative handpiece in your office: sectioning under load, longer burs, heavier side forces. Bearings and chucks wear sooner, and a surgical handpiece that has lost torque or spray accuracy has no business in a flap.
What fails first: turbine bearings under sectioning load · chuck grip on surgical-length burs · blocked spray ports · worn coupling O-rings
Every surgical rebuild is tested under load — speed, torque and spray pattern — before it goes back in the box.

On the surgical side, the Impact Air 45 is the one we see most — it has its own dedicated page. Straight surgical attachments and other 45-degree rear-exhaust models ride the same bench, and turbine work across every brand is covered on our high speed handpiece repair page.

The attachment — the contra-angle head that holds the file — is our work. The motor and its electronics are a different kind of repair. Send us the model through our contact page and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth shipping.
No. Vibration means runout, and chuck slip means the file is not being held square — both are the warning signs that come before a separated file. Set it aside and send it in; the rebuild is far cheaper than the appointment a separated file ruins.
Yes — it is the surgical handpiece we see most, and it has its own dedicated page covering the rear-exhaust design and what a rebuild includes.
That is the starting price for a rebuild in this category. Endo and surgical models vary in parts cost, so every job gets a written quote for your exact model after the free inspection — and nothing goes forward until you approve it.
Bench time is 2–3 business days, plus carrier transit each way on the free prepaid label. Every repair carries a 6-month parts and labor warranty.
Yes — sterilize and bag the handpiece before it goes in the box, the same as you would between patients. It protects everyone handling the package.
From $229 with a free written quote first, a prepaid label in your inbox the same business day, and your instrument back fast.
