High Speed Dental Handpiece Maintenance Guide
Proper lubrication after every patient use (before sterilization) is critical for high-speed handpieces. Use only manufacturer-approved synthetic lubricants through the drive air port (typically the smaller of the two larger tubes at the connector).Excess oil reduces bearing life; insufficient lubrication causes premature wear. Our High Speed Lubrication Graphic (below) illustrates drive air port identification, lubrication points, and common mistakes for quick staff reference.
Electric and Low Speed Dental Handpiece Maintenance Guide
Electric motors and attachments have different needs—many low-speed components are lube-free to avoid damage. Lubricate electric motors after use per manufacturer guidelines, and service contra angles/attachments regularly. Our guide covers safe practices to protect gears, bearings, and performance. Check out our lubrication guide below!
